Recently we were invited to take a peek at a bridal shower planned by Table 6 Productions wedding and event planner, Lauryn Prattes. It was the perfect day for a glorious drive through Great Falls and, upon arriving at the client's home, I was greeted by Lauryn and her assistant, the mother of the bride, Alison Fisher and Cameron Feller from Occasions Catering, and Laura Ashbrook of Laura Ashbrook Photography. Lauryn never skipped a beat an hour before guests were due to arrive, cheerfully directing 'traffic' and putting the finishing touches on decor.
The shower was an Alice in Wonderland theme. Lauryn didn't want to do the stereotypical Alice in Wonderland that is more of a rustic setting. Instead, she felt Alice in Wonderland is all about whimsy. To Lauryn, and to this particular bride, whimsy is everything girly: ruffles and feathers and sequins!
Alison, from Occasions, did such an amazing job coming up with a creative menu that fit the theme. The pocket watch quiche were a favorite and the playing card sugar cookies were darling! Vintage teacups totally completed the theme! Cake from Fluffy Thoughts.

Lauryn discovered her love for weddings while still in college. She had aspirations of being a fashion editor for a fashion magazine when she landed a school internship with a bridal publication and fell in love with weddings. After graduating she worked full time for the magazine and wrote an online wedding planning guide called the Pink Book. Lauryn then moved back home to Atlanta where she took a position as a bridal concierge at Bridal Bar, a luxury event planning resource for brides. It was there that she met the owner of Table 6 Productions in Atlanta and first became interested in wedding planning. After assisting Table 6 Atlanta for almost a year she began planning a move to Washington DC. Heather, the founder of Table 6 Productions. asked Lauryn if she would be interested in owning a Table 6 in Washington, DC and the rest is history!
