The bride and groom had a vision of a stylish black-tie event, which evolved into a black-and-white polka dot theme, embellished with yellow accents. From table décor in the polka dot motif to bridesmaids' polka dot high heels (to complement sleek strapless black dresses from White House Black Market), flower girls' yellow tutus and the adorable ring bearer's yellow bow tie, every detail was designed with their stylish theme in mind. Wedding planner Elizabeth Bailey kept their planning on target, says the bride, and allowed the two to enjoy their romantic day with absolutely no worries.
The couple's ceremony officially began with the ring bearer (complete with bell!) running along and happily chanting "Here Comes the Bride!" Musicians played "Here Comes the Sun" as the bride and her father arrived in a horse-drawn carriage, and a quilted chuppah - fashioned from fabric squares that had been mailed to guests in advance so they could inscribe a message to the couple - was the perfect sentimental addition to the setting. Following cocktails at the resort's outdoor pavilion, a magical evening began in the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake ballroom, which had been transformed with soft white draping, a bevy of white flowers and candles, even including the couple's own family crest illuminating from the all-white dance floor. White sofas in the bar area were accented with monogrammed pillows, while large photos of both Sunni and Lance's parents and grandparents' weddings days graced the foyer. In the playful spirit the two had envisioned for their dream day, hotel staff wearing Dumser's hats from the well-known Maryland ice cream parlor handed out mini ice cream cones and later Ocean City, Maryland lifeguards served guests another local favorite - Fishers Popcorn - along with a few exciting moves on the dance floor.
Sunni made her grand entrance in a halter-style design with layered tulle skirt, custom made by Anne Barge and selected at Betsy Robinson'sBridal Collection.
