Park Hyatt Wedding: Korean and Vietnamese Traditions

Wednesday, November 5, 2014  ///  Real Weddings
Jonathan and Jane met during student orientation at Georgetown University in 2003 and started dating later that year, making it almost 10 years together by their wedding day. The blind-folded Groom saw his gorgeous Bride for the first time on the campus where they originally met. Writing their own ceremony allowed the couple to enjoy a very intimate and personal celebration. The ceremony was officiated by a friend, who they secretly asked only three weeks before the big day. The three of them not only kept it a secret from all of their mutual friends, but also from his wife. Needless to say, everyone was surprised when he walked down the aisle as part of the processional. Guests traveled from afar, with many coming from Singapore, Australia and all around parts of Asia and Europe.  A Korean ceremony, called a Paebaek, is tradition for Jane's family and was celebrated before entering the ballroom of the Park Hyatt Hotel, beautifully designed by Blue Vanda. Jonathan's Vietnamese heritage was celebrated during the reception, as the lion dancing performance entertained everyone. Images of the memorable day were captured by Freed Photography and are also presented, including additional images, on their blog: http://freedphoto.com/blog/park-hyatt-with-jonathan-jane/ Wonderful Team of Vendors Venue: Park Hyatt Washington, with Director of Catering Michael Deltette;  Photography: Freed Photography Inc.;  Wedding Gown: Austin Scarlett from Hitched Georgetown; Tuxedo: Tom Ford from Tom Ford New York; Florist: Blue Vanda Designs; Lighting: PSAV; Catering: Park Hyatt Washington; Videography: Ryan Geldermann; Entertainment: Chris Laich Music Services (DJ), Hung Vuong Lion Dance Team, Pics N Motion (Flipbook Photobooth), Insadong Hanbok (Korean Ceremony)
